Words

# Overview

One of the main ways Polyglatte can help you learn languages is by helping you keep track of the words you've seen in your reading and listening and quizzing you on them as you use the language.

The color of a given word in an article indicates your knowledge of that word.

Part of Speech

Polyglatte uses Part of Speech (like verb, noun, adjective) to distinguish between words. That means that the following English words are 2 different words in Polyglatte.
record (noun) ≠ record (verb)

Using Part of Speech allows more precision for studying the specific meanings and pronuncations of words.

Lemmatization

Polyglatte lemmatizes words into their root form which means that :
records (noun) = record (noun)

and the following are all considered to be the same word, record (verb) :

records (verb) = recorded (verb) = recording (verb)

By lemmatizing words we can substantially reduce the number of words you have to deal with in some languages.
